Sawankhalok

Presents the prosperous development of Sawankhalok where the evidences of habitants, who lived in this area and nearby Yom River, were found. They lived since the prehistory and before the establishment of Sukhothai, Sukhothai, Ayutthaya, and Rattanakosin. The numbers of antiques and archaeological sites were found as to represent the development of the country. The presented essential antiques were Polished Stone Axes, Grid Stone Stick Baked Clay, and Apsara and Devata Eave Tile. |
Celadon

Celadon is the pottery with a long well-known. The beautiful and splendid celadon was produced since Sukhothai was established as a Kingdom. Its forms and production methods were developed to produce the essential and qualified export products in the era of Ayutthaya. Celadon was not only produced as a bowl, but also other various products produced from the wisdom of the ancestors, for example, the model of humans and animals, items for architecture decoration, teapot or kendi. The celadon can be divided based on glazing into 6 types: unglazed products, brownish to black glazed wares, turbid white glazed wares, greenish glazed or celadon, two colored glazed and black to brownish under glazed wares. |

Buddha Statues

At the upstairs, most of models were Buddha Statues given from Phra Sawanvoranayok, and moved from Ramkhamhaeng National Museum and the process of archaeology at the Old Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai. The Biddha Statues were divided based on the era age and art designs, i.e. Lopburi art, Chaing San or Lanna art, Sukhothai art, U thong art, Ayutthaya art and Rattanakosin art. |

The meaning of Sangkhalok
|
Prince Damrong Rajanunubhab has a hypothesis that the word ‘Sangkhalok’ could means the earthen ware produced in Chinese style of Song Dynasty, but this word might also derive from the word ‘Sawankhalok’ which is the name of a town Ayutthaya period. |

2.Ancient kilns of Sukhothai
|
This Location of kilns is near Jon River 1.2 kilometres north Sukhothai city. It is in the vicinity of Bann Muang Kao, Nmpor Muang Sukhothai. They are Sangkhalok kilns dating back to the golden era of Sangkhalok trade. |
