Prachinburi National Museum is the east regional museum of History, Archaeology, established as a place for exhibiting and collecting antiques and artifact in archaeological various of regions and nearby areas as in Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. Showcasing the history of the area since the settlers of the approximately ten thousand years ago until nowadays.
The building exhibits are two-storey building divided the expression as :
1. Eastern archaeological exhibits the antiques from archaeological excavations, especially the exploration of Sri Mahosoth ancient city Prachinburi province, the ancient city was flourished from approximately century 6-16 BE. in Dvaravati culture and in the century 17-18 BE. in ancient Khmer culture.
2. Prehistoric archeology in the East, showcasing key pieces of antiques from the archaeological excavation of Kok Pondee archaeological area and Nhong No Archaeological area, Chonburi province, shows the development of the former settlement prior to the development of modern history.
3. Development of History – Archaeology in Thailand exhibits antiques in different periods of history, from prehistoric times to modern day since the arts of Dvaravati , Srivijaya, Lanna, ancient Khmer , Sukhothai and Ayutthaya period. Include the ancient wares in different periods of Thailand .
4. Underwater Archaeology exhibits antiquities from archaeological underwater found in the gulf of Thailand. This is an important maritime route from the past to the present.
