Exhibitions in Chao Sam Phraya National Museum.
Characteristics in Chao Sam Phraya National Museum exhibitions are showcasing antiques, art objects. The exhibitions divided into three buildings, the first building exhibit sartifacts of gold amulets and Buddha, the second building exhibits a modern pottery and the third building is Ruan Thai house and Thai pavilion for the rotary exhibits.
The first building
The main building of the museum, exhibit on two floors. The exhibit focuses on the types of artifacts, including Buddha Dvaravati, Lop Buri, Sukhothai and Ayutthaya. Important pieces of Buddha Image are Buddha head from Wat Dhammigratcha assumed that built before established or early of Ayutthaya kingdom and Large white stone Buddha in Dvaravati art from base of Pagoda of Wat Meru, Nakorn Prathom Province. Beyond to show woodcraft as carved seraph doors from Wat Phra Sri San Phet , Vishnu riding Garuda Gable from Wat Nang Plum and Garuda of Khon vessel, heading of royal yacht in Ayutthaya period. The Exhibits in this area focuses on artifacts found from Wat Mahathat and Wat Ratch Burana. On east side exhibits artifacts from Wat Rat Burana. Most of then have returned from the track. The culprit was arrested illegally excavated Wat Rat Burana Year 2500 include regalia. Air royal gold Robes , accessories, gold Golden Pagoda, tribute and dedicated in the early Ayutthaya period.
The second building
Indoor exhibits include two cabinet exhibited by the two sides on display the earthenware ranging from prehistoric times to the period. Innermost art exhibit Lopburi sandstone Buddha . Black and white books, textbooks and Thai Dum books.
The third building (Ruan Thai house and Thai pavilion)
Nowaday, Ruan Thai house exhibits temporary exhibitions to Memorial Her Majesty Queen Sirikit in tiyle “ The Queen With the history and archeology at Abbottabad". The content divide 2 parts :
Part 1 : Divine grace of Queen's to made a historic and archaeological resources, particularly in the area of Ayutthaya selected Wat Chaiwatthanaram, Wat Som and Wat Pookhao Thong to present. The temples are unseen but her majesty queen Sirikit have gone.
Part 2: Information of ‘Wat’ in historic and fine arts from 7 that people rarely visit by the objective to encourage tourists to visit and experience the ancient sites which are beyond popular. This rorary exhibition runs until to April, 2017.
Thai Pavilian: Exhibit new rotary exhibition about “Gold Ayutthaya World Heritage Site of the earth’ to honor King on the occasion of the Throne full 70 years in 2016 as a leading repository of artifacts Phra Prang of Wat Ratcha Burana and many other artifacts of gold were found from other temples in Ayutthaya which is split to keep in stock and on display at Chao Sam Phraya National Museum to exhibit. the antiques for appreciated and studied. There are 4 parts of content as;
Part 1: Explain the building of dungeon
Part 2: About temples that found gold antiques in dungeon Wat Mahathat , Wat Ratcha Burana, Wat Suwat Chedee and Wat Phutthai Sawan
Part 3: News about finding gold antiques in dungeon in 1956-1957
Part 4: Explain the meaning and nature of gold and the source of the gold in Ayutthaya period. It also simulates the appearance of Wat Ratcha Burana into the room to show the audience can easily understand. The exhibition runs until December 2560.
