- เIt is the assembled boat by five boards. It is modified from a Chinese skiff, but it is slimmer. The stern of some boats is cut off which is called a "cut-off stern sampan". In the reign of King Rama III, the modified sampan is used as the royal battleship. This modified sampan is mostly used for trading in the area of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Samut Sakorn and Bangkok.
